San Antonio Gears Up for "Hoops on Houston Street"
A Tip Off Event for the 2025 Men's Final Four Fan Jam
San Antonio, TX (August 19, 2024) – The excitement is building as San Antonio prepares to host the 2025 Men's Final Four, and what better way to tip off the festivities than with "Hoops on Houston Street"! This vibrant and family-friendly event will serve as the official launch of the Fan Jam truck and take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., transforming a few blocks of Houston Street in downtown San Antonio into a basketball and entertainment extravaganza.
"Hoops on Houston Street" promises a day filled with activities for all ages, including basketball games, fitness challenges, special announcements from community leaders, live entertainment, and more. The featured attraction will be the Men's Final Four® Fan Jam, a 16-foot box truck wrapped in 2025 Men’s Final Four branding and paired with a sport court activation. It will also be a celebration of San Antonio's rich sports culture and community spirit, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to join in the excitement of the upcoming NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
Special Guests and Highlights:
Mayor Ron Nirenberg, Elena Wells (Executive Director, SALOC), Jenny Carnes (President & CEO, SA Sports), and Assistant City Manager Lori Houston will officially welcoming the Men’s Final Four Fan Jam at an 11 a.m. press conference, setting the tone for an exciting day of festivities.

Appearances by local athletes, including UTSA and UIW men’s college basketball coaches, San Antonio Spurs coaches, Coyote and hype squad, who will engage with fans and participate in exhibition games.
A variety of interactive hoop zones, including fitness contests, free throw challenges, a reading corner, and skills games for young basketball enthusiasts.
Community Partner activations by Special Olympics of Texas, Celebrate Dyslexia, GetFitSA, the Mayor’s Fitness Council, San Antonio Public Library, YMCA of San Antonio, UIW Athletics, UTSA Athletics, Sweat San Antonio, Legacy Park, Centro San Antonio and more.
